  • Do I need to drill into my truck bed?
Yes, the Tail Bridge system requires 2, 3/16" drill holes in each corner of your truck bed. Our hinge system is backed with 3M VHB (Very High Bonding) tape that seals the junction between hinge base and truck bed acting as a gasket eliminating water creep under the hinge.
  • Why don't you offer this for GMC/Chevrolet trucks?
The truck bed design of the GMC/Chevrolet truck is corrugated to the tailgate, providing zero flat space between the truck bed and tailgate for proper fit.
  • Will your system work with bed liners?
The Tail Bridge tailgate bridging solution will work with spray liners. Bed inserts may need to be manipulated in order for the system to work.
  • Can I remove the Tail Bridge system?
Yes, the Tail Bridge system can be removed. The 3M VHB tape provides a strong adhesive for installation and weather resistant protection, however, the hinge may be removed.
  • I had my bridge stay up when I dropped my tailgate, empty load. It has only happened once but was curious to see if you have encountered this.
In our testing we found that if the tailgate is slammed shut, it can have a tendency to lift the plate in the hinge, standing the bridge more upright inside the hinge rather than angled as needed. It should just take a tap to drop it and align itself. If not, drop the tailgate. When the bridge is flat, simply pull it towards you. That will realign the bridge into the hinge slot. Try to prevent the tailgate from slamming shut if at all possible.
  • Can the Tail Bridge system be adjusted for lenght?
Yes. If there is a discrepancy in your weld between bed post to bed post, you can trim the bridge to fit. Place the hinges against the appropriate bed post, (blow-back tabs facing inward) where both hinges are flat on the truck bed surface. Measure from the inner most area of the right side hinge tab cut-out to the inner-most area of the left side hinge tab cut-out. Cut the plate 1/8" shorter than your post-to-post measurement. This should account for the hinge tab bend amount. Always wear protective glasses and use gloves when cutting and handling. Once the plate is trimmed, file edges to remove excess fragments. Check fit before installation in case more needs to be trimmed.
