Salt Lake City, Utah 05-31-2024 – Born from a thought in the mountains of the LaSalle’s, designed, sourced and made in Salt Lake City, Utah, Tail Bridge is proud to announce their Tail Bridge tailgate gap bridging system has been issued their United States Patent!
Tail Bridge launched on March 12, 2024, with the goal of providing a viable, cost effective, made in America solution to a challenge faced by many truck owners nationwide… the gap between the truck bed and tailgate when the gate is in the down position.
Inventor, owner and CMO for Tail Bridge Layne Lundstrom, conceived the bridge on the mountains of the LaSalle’s at his cabin after hauling truck load after truck load of mountain debris, mostly downed and felled trees to prevent wildfire. And every time it came to cleaning out the gap the thought returned, “there must be a solution for this, what a pain in the… neck. Some of that stuff would settle down in the gap like cement!” ~ Layne Lundstrom

With limited options on the market today, Tail Bridge’s goal was three-fold. One, it had to be made in the U.S.A. Two, it had to be durable. And three, it had to stand the test of time.
Tail Bridge addresses this head on with a long term, simple yet refined, rugged solution made of 12 GA. Stainless Steel that easily mounts in the rear of the truck bed. When the tailgate drops down, the bridge plate tracks down on the glide plates. When the tailgate is closed, the bridge tracks up on the glide plates with zero damage to the tailgate finish. Made of steel, the bridging system holds up under extreme use including shovel and tool strike and has superior load bearing strength to those products currently on the market. The proprietary blow back tabs prevent the bridge from “blowing” back into the bed during travel and the bridge nestles against the tabs to prevent chatter.
“Our main priority in the beginning of our journey was to provide a quality, value priced product that was made in America while addressing this problem long-term with a viable solution. Those three criteria were a must. In and of the patent itself, witnessing the spark in a mind come to fruition and on the market today was quite the experience to behold. I am proud of our team and what we have accomplished to date. A spark that solves a problem, is durable and made in the USA… WOW! I am honored and extremely humbled!” ~ Layne Lundstrom – Inventor / Owner
Tail Bridge continues to expand its line through product development and is currently designing a trailer drop gate system as well as the Slim Shot System for tighter fit restrictions. The Tail Bridge system is available in three sizes with powder coating an option, in standing colors and custom mixes.
Tail Bridge and its officers would like to thank the businesses and individuals that have contributed to our success and continue to contribute to this day.
